ONE RACE.

ONE ROWER.

ONE REASON.

AND ONE RECORD VOYAGE.

In December 2020, South African eco-warrior Grant Blakeway will row 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean to raise awareness about marine plastic pollution.

As a solo competitor in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, Grant will face Mother Nature’s best and worst during an epic journey from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to English Harbour in Antigua.

Alone at sea for up to 90 days, he’ll battle physical, mental, emotional, and environmental extremes in his quest to complete the 1.5 million oar strokes required to reach the finish line. And before the race begins, Grant has another milestone to achieve: the recycling of 1.5 million plastic bottles in his home province.
